Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and record vital signs, and report any changes in resident condition to nursing staff
- Support residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure safety and comfort
- Assist with meals and feeding, documenting intake and output as directed
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring infection prevention standards are met
- Engage residents in meaningful activities and provide emotional support to promote quality of life
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Connecticut
- Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Must be compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing high-quality care
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of resident care techniques, safety protocols, and infection control practices
- Skilled in taking and recording vital signs accurately
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Ability to adapt to varying resident needs and prioritize tasks effectively
