Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate personal care to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
  • Monitor and record vital signs, and report any changes in resident condition to nursing staff
  • Support residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure safety and comfort
  • Assist with meals and feeding, documenting intake and output as directed
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring infection prevention standards are met
  • Engage residents in meaningful activities and provide emotional support to promote quality of life
  • Collaborate with the care team to deliver individualized care plans

Qualifications

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Connecticut
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association preferred)
  • Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members
  • Must be compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing high-quality care

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of resident care techniques, safety protocols, and infection control practices
  • Skilled in taking and recording vital signs accurately
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to adapt to varying resident needs and prioritize tasks effectively
