Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support and mentorship to new hires, experienced staff, and students
• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation and continuing education programs
• Serve as a clinical practice resource—coach staff on complex patient care and medication administration
• Analyze patient data to identify practice gaps and design targeted interventions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement evidence-based standards of care
• Facilitate training for new clinical practices, protocols, and equipment
• Perform quality control audits and report concerns to leadership to maintain regulatory compliance
• Advocate for patients and families while promoting ethical standards and organizational mission

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Alaska
• Nursing degree required; BSN preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
• Clinical Competency Assessment - SEARHC and High Risk Competency - SEARHC (as required)
• Minimum of 5 years of RN experience in acute care settings (preferred)
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Education

• Nursing degree required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Sound knowledge of clinical practice standards, procedures, and safe medication administration
• Skill in comprehensive patient assessment and managing acutely ill patients
• Experience with evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives
• Ability to design and deliver effective clinical education and orientation
• Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Ability to motivate and mentor staff to achieve clinical excellence
