Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
• Assist with safe transfers, mobility, and positioning to keep patients comfortable
• Monitor and document patient condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff
• Support infection control and maintain a clean, safe environment for patients
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Engage patients with dignity and respect, fostering a reassuring and positive atmosphere
• Follow facility policies and procedures, including accurate charting and handoffs

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification (required) — must be in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable working 12+ hour day shifts and covering weekends
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow facility protocols and documentation standards
• Experience in long-term care or similar settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current CNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding)
• Understanding of basic infection control and safety precautions
• Familiarity with charting and basic electronic health record use
• Good observational skills for noticing subtle changes in patient condition
• Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
• Compassionate bedside manner and ability to engage patients respectfully
