Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting changes promptly to nursing staff
- Support patient mobility and safe transfers with attention to comfort and dignity
- Assist with feeding, hygiene, and toileting while promoting patient independence
- Maintain clean, safe patient environments and adhere to infection control practices
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Accurately document care and observations in the patient record
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
- Eligibility or active CNA certification in New Mexico
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable working overnight hours and supporting a rehab/long-term care population
- Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-first attitude
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current CNA certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in basic patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Knowledge of infection control and safe patient handling techniques
- Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
- Clear, compassionate communication with patients and families
- Familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn
- Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
