Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate peri-procedural nursing care for endoscopy patients
• Prepare patients and equipment for GI procedures, ensuring sterile technique and readiness
• Monitor patients’ vital signs and sedation status during procedures and respond quickly to changes
• Document care accurately and timely in EPIC EMR to maintain clear patient records
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and the surgical team to deliver efficient, high-quality care
• Educate patients and families on procedures, post-procedure care, and discharge instructions
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts and maintain compliance with hospital policies

Qualifications

• Current California RN license required
• Minimum 1 year experience in GI or Endoscopy required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN) preferred
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced procedural environment and strong teamwork skills

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (ADN/BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of GI and endoscopy procedures
• Patient assessment and monitoring during sedation
• Infection control and sterile technique
• IV therapy and medication administration
• Proficient documentation in EPIC EMR
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
