Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality neonatal nursing care for level 3 NICU patients
- Perform skilled procedures such as UAC/UVC insertion and intubation when indicated
- Collaborate closely with neonatologists, nurse practitioners and the multidisciplinary team to develop and advocate for individualized care plans
- Monitor patient status, interpret data and respond to changes with clinical confidence
- Support and educate families, offering lactation guidance and emotional support during critical times
- Document care thoroughly and accurately in Meditech EMR to ensure continuity and quality
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Colorado (or compact RN) required
- At least 1 year of Level 3 NICU experience (required)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- BLS required; PALS preferred or available
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
- Strong communication skills, professional teamwork, and a patient-family centered approach
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (ADN/BSN preferred)
Knowledge & Skills
- Neonatal assessment and advanced monitoring
- Skill in UAC/UVC placement and neonatal intubation
- Knowledge of neonatal respiratory support and ventilator basics
- Lactation support and family education
- Familiarity with unit policies, infection control and neonatal protocols
- Comfort working in a small, closely knit unit environment
