Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality neonatal nursing care for level 3 NICU patients
• Perform skilled procedures such as UAC/UVC insertion and intubation when indicated
• Collaborate closely with neonatologists, nurse practitioners and the multidisciplinary team to develop and advocate for individualized care plans
• Monitor patient status, interpret data and respond to changes with clinical confidence
• Support and educate families, offering lactation guidance and emotional support during critical times
• Document care thoroughly and accurately in Meditech EMR to ensure continuity and quality

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Colorado (or compact RN) required
• At least 1 year of Level 3 NICU experience (required)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• BLS required; PALS preferred or available
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Strong communication skills, professional teamwork, and a patient-family centered approach

Education

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (ADN/BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal assessment and advanced monitoring
• Skill in UAC/UVC placement and neonatal intubation
• Knowledge of neonatal respiratory support and ventilator basics
• Lactation support and family education
• Familiarity with unit policies, infection control and neonatal protocols
• Comfort working in a small, closely knit unit environment
