Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate OR team activities during night operations to ensure efficient, safe surgical flow
• Oversee patient care and maintain 2:1 patient ratios, prioritizing safety and outcomes
• Serve as the bedside and administrative resource for trauma activations at a Level II trauma center
• Communicate clearly with surgeons, anesthesia, techs and on-call specialty teams to streamline procedures
• Ensure compliance with sterile technique, OR policies, and Meditech documentation standards
• Mentor and support bedside staff and technicians, fostering a collaborative, calm environment during high-acuity cases

Qualifications

• Current RN license eligible for practice in Colorado
• Proven OR Charge Nurse experience (required)
• Trauma Level II experience (required) with familiarity in trauma activation protocols
• Experience with general OR surgeries and specialty cases such as Neuro/Spine, CVT, Ortho, GYN, and Robotics
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred
• Strong communication skills, leadership presence, and ability to triage and prioritize in high-pressure situations
• Familiarity with Meditech or similar OR EMR systems

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep knowledge of perioperative workflows and sterile processing
• Trauma response procedures and ability to mobilize on-call teams quickly
• Clinical judgment for surgical case sequencing and patient safety
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR documentation and order workflows
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage OR resources
• Comfort with a wide variety of surgical subspecialties including robotics
