Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams including vascular, body, extremities, thyroid, paracentesis and thoracentesis with skill and compassion
- Execute Transcranial Dopplers (TCDs) and vascular studies accurately, documenting findings in Meditech
- Operate and maintain GE Logic E9 and E10 equipment, ensuring quality images and patient safety
- Communicate findings and patient status clearly to the care team and escalate concerns when appropriate
- Provide empathetic patient care, prioritizing safety and comfort for every exam
- Participate in unit workflows including portable studies and occasional floating assignments
Qualifications
- ARDMS or ARRT certification required
- Vascular registry (RVT) required or strongly preferred
- BLS certification required
- At least one year of clinical ultrasound/vascular experience preferred
- Demonstrated experience with vascular and general sonography procedures (thyroid, extremities, body, paracentesis/thoracentesis, TCDs)
- Strong patient-focused interpersonal skills and ability to work in a small team
Education
- Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field, or equivalent clinical experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with GE Logic E9 and E10 ultrasound systems
- Experience using Meditech EMR (or similar) for exam documentation
- Solid knowledge of vascular anatomy and sonographic protocols
- Skilled in portable imaging and adapting to varied clinical settings
- Good time management, critical thinking, and clear clinical communication
