Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate Philips 1.5T and 3T MRI scanners to acquire high-quality diagnostic images
- Perform safe, patient-centered MRI exams and monitor patient well-being throughout procedures
- Follow established protocols and adapt imaging techniques for optimal diagnostic yield
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to ensure accurate imaging and timely results
- Respond to on-call requests and cover scheduled call-in shifts per the rotation
- Maintain equipment logs, assist with basic troubleshooting, and report issues promptly
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and documentation standards at all times
Qualifications
- Certified MRI Technologist (ARRT-MR preferred or equivalent)
- Valid state radiologic technologist license; AMRITTX license accepted but not required
- Hands-on experience with Philips 1.5T and 3T MRI systems — required
- Familiarity or willingness to cross-train on Siemens 1.5T (arriving June 2025)
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Strong patient care skills and the ability to work independently during on-call shifts
- Reliable transportation for late-night and weekend on-call coverage
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field; MRI certification or registry preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of MRI physics, protocols, and safety (including MRI screening and zones)
- Ability to position patients and use coils and sequences for head, spine, MSK, and body imaging
- Comfort with PACS, EMR documentation, and basic scanner maintenance checks
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and multidisciplinary teams
- Good clinical judgment for prioritizing urgent imaging and managing unexpected situations
