Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate students' speech, language, and communication needs using evidence-based tools
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans and IEP goals that make measurable progress
- Deliver engaging, student-centered therapy across individual and small-group settings
- Collaborate daily with teachers, special educators, and families to support student success in the classroom
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation and progress notes in accordance with district and CDE standards
- Provide training and consultation to staff and caregivers to foster carryover of communication strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary planning to ensure coordinated services
Qualifications
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) — required
- Colorado State SLP license — required
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) certificate — required (pending CDE acceptable)
- Experience in school-based speech-language services preferred
- Comfortable with caseload management, IEP development, and school documentation requirements
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with teachers, families, and administrators
Education
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required for CCC-SLP)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of school-based assessment and intervention strategies
- Skilled in IEP development, progress monitoring, and educational documentation
- Familiarity with articulation, language disorders, fluency, voice, and pragmatic/social communication goals
- Ability to plan and deliver evidence-based small-group and individual therapy
- Strong rapport-building with students, families, and school teams
- Basic familiarity with district digital documentation systems (training provided as needed)
