Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a medical-surgical unit
- Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to achieve the best outcomes
- Monitor and document patient progress and respond to changes in condition
- Educate patients and families to support recovery and self-care
- Advocate for patients and contribute to a compassionate, respectful care environment
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or compact RN licensure
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or obtainable
- Ability to provide high-quality clinical assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy
- Comfortable using hospital EMR systems and following established protocols
- Clear background check and drug screen as required by facility
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). BSN preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medical-surgical nursing skills and bedside assessment
- Medication administration and IV therapy competence
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of infection control and patient safety practices
- Familiarity with electronic health records and documentation standards
