Location: Santa Cruz, California

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 10-hour shifts, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, with call for night shift and weekends

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms and ensure all equipment is ready for procedures
Assist surgeons and the surgical team during a wide range of cases including general and cardiac procedures
Maintain sterile technique and support patient safety at every step
Collaborate with anesthesia providers and support staff for smooth case flow
Document procedures accurately using Cerner Surginet
Respond to on-call needs and help cover weekend and holiday shifts as part of a supportive team

Qualifications

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Experience as a Surgical Tech or OR Tech strongly preferred
Familiarity with Cerner Surginet EMR is a plus
Ability to work 10-hour shifts and participate in call rotation including weekends

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
Comfortable working in both general and cardiac OR settings
Proficient with Phillips telemetry and Draeger ventilation equipment
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced surgical environment
