Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team in a busy operating room as a scrub tech for a variety of procedures including open heart, medical, and orthopedic surgeries
• Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies throughout surgical cases
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon, ensuring efficiency and safety during procedures
• Participate in on-call rotation to support emergency surgeries and extended case loads
• Utilize EPIC EMR to document and coordinate patient care
• Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a busy operating room
• Active BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
• Willingness to take rotating on-call shifts (one night every 2 weeks, one weekend every 6 weeks)
• Ability to adapt to changing case loads and work hours

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of surgical scrub techniques and sterile field management
• Familiarity with a wide range of surgical procedures including open heart and orthopedics
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced environments
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient safety
