Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams, procedures, and adjustments
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, ensuring a clean and safe environment
• Take and process dental X-rays as directed
• Educate patients on orthodontic care and oral hygiene
• Maintain accurate patient records and charts using Denticon software
• Stock treatment rooms and manage supplies efficiently

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or comparable certification preferred
• Current CPR certification required
• Radiology (X-ray) certification in Maryland is a plus
• Prior orthodontic assisting experience is highly valued
• Familiarity with Denticon software is desirable but not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, procedures, and terminology
• Proficiency with dental practice management software, especially Denticon
• Strong communication and patient interaction skills
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities
• Ability to multitask in a busy clinical setting
