Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during exams, procedures, and adjustments
- Prepare and sterilize instruments, ensuring a clean and safe environment
- Take and process dental X-rays as directed
- Educate patients on orthodontic care and oral hygiene
- Maintain accurate patient records and charts using Denticon software
- Stock treatment rooms and manage supplies efficiently
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or comparable certification preferred
- Current CPR certification required
- Radiology (X-ray) certification in Maryland is a plus
- Prior orthodontic assisting experience is highly valued
- Familiarity with Denticon software is desirable but not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, procedures, and terminology
- Proficiency with dental practice management software, especially Denticon
- Strong communication and patient interaction skills
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational abilities
- Ability to multitask in a busy clinical setting
