Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and patients to identify speech, language, voice, fluency and swallowing challenges
• Design and carry out individualized treatment plans that help people communicate with confidence
• Deliver dysphagia therapy and swallowing safety strategies that protect overall health
• Document evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries accurately and on time
• Partner with physicians, nurses, occupational and physical therapists to coordinate whole-person care
• Coach families and caregivers so progress continues long after the session ends
• Track outcomes and adjust treatment plans as each person grows stronger
• Serve as a trusted resource and cheerful presence for the community you support

Qualifications

• Active Speech Language Pathologist licensure in the state of California
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
• Experience in skilled nursing, senior living, outpatient or a similar care setting is a plus
• New graduates with strong clinical practicum experience are welcome to apply
• Current BLS certification
• A compassionate communicator who enjoys building relationships with patients and their families
• Strong time management skills and a genuine team-first attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders
• Familiar with standardized testing tools and outcome measurement
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and documentation standards
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and insurance documentation requirements
• Clear, patient, encouraging communication with patients and families
• Adaptable and creative when tailoring therapy to individual abilities
• Collaborative mindset that fits well in an interdisciplinary care team
