Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive communication needs
• Build individualized treatment plans that help patients regain confidence and independence in daily life
• Collaborate closely with nursing, therapy, and care teams to track progress and adjust goals
• Document sessions accurately and on time so every patient's care story stays clear and complete
• Educate residents and families on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques
• Serve as a trusted voice for your patients and an encouraging presence for their loved ones

Qualifications

• Active Speech Language Pathologist license in the state of California
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred, Clinical Fellows are welcome to apply
• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
• Current BLS certification
• Skilled nursing or geriatric experience is a plus, but a genuine passion for patient care matters most
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid grasp of dysphagia evaluation and treatment approaches
• Comfort with speech, language, voice, and cognitive communication intervention
• Familiarity with documentation systems and therapy goal tracking
• Ability to connect with patients and families in a warm, reassuring way
• Time management skills that keep sessions and paperwork running smoothly
• A flexible, can-do attitude in a fast paced rehab environment
