Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, voice, fluency and swallowing disorders
• Build individualized treatment plans that help patients regain confidence and independence
• Deliver skilled therapy services that make a real difference in daily communication
• Educate patients, families and caregivers on strategies for lasting progress
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary rehab team to coordinate the best possible care
• Document evaluations, progress notes and discharges accurately and on time
• Celebrate every milestone, from a first clear word to a safe swallow

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
• Current SLP licensure in the state of California (or actively in process)
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
• Clinical Fellows are welcome to apply, mentorship available
• Experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation settings is a plus
• Current BLS certification
• A compassionate bedside manner and a genuine love for helping people communicate

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong grasp of dysphagia assessment and treatment techniques
• Comfort with standardized speech and language evaluation tools
• Knowledge of Medicare and insurance documentation requirements
• Excellent communication skills with patients, families and teammates
• Solid time management and ability to juggle a flexible caseload
• Team-first attitude with a willingness to jump in and support others
• A growth mindset and openness to mentoring and feedback
