Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM or 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the Progressive Care Unit
Monitor and titrate IV drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
Perform continuous EEG monitoring and assess for changes in patient condition
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed to support the team

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum of 2 years recent PCU or step-down experience preferred
Valid driver's license for travel compliance
Must pass an open-book orientation exam with 90% or higher
Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to problem-solve

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetes management
Proficiency in titrating vasoactive and cardiac drips
Critical thinking and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
Comfortable with continuous EEG monitoring and telemetry
