Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to mothers and babies during labor and delivery
• Monitor fetal heart rates, contractions, and maternal vital signs
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, and respond to emergencies
• Educate parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and the healthcare team
• Document care accurately and maintain a safe, sterile environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification strongly preferred
• Previous Labor & Delivery experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Labor support and pain management techniques
• Patient education and advocacy
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) proficiency
• Emergency response and neonatal resuscitation
