Roles & Responsibilities

• Triage and assess patients in the emergency department, quickly determining the level of care each person needs
• Administer medications, IVs, and advanced emergency interventions under pressure
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and specialists to develop and execute care plans
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and their families during stressful moments
• Float to medical-surgical units as needed, bringing your emergency expertise and a helping hand
• Document accurately and maintain a safe, organized, and compliant environment

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa (or compact state) with successful license/certificate verification
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications
• ED nursing experience strongly preferred; new grads with a passion for emergency care welcome
• Willingness to float to medical-surgical units when needed
• Ability to pass Trinity-specific competency testing, skills checklist, and health screenings

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep understanding of emergency nursing protocols and evidence-based practice
• Excellent triage, assessment, and rapid decision-making abilities
• Strong proficiency in IV insertion, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring
• Outstanding communication and teamwork, especially during critical events
• Flexibility to adapt quickly and float between ED and MS units
