Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care for cardiovascular operating room patients
• Assist surgical teams during complex cardiac and vascular procedures
• Monitor patient vital signs and anesthesia during surgery
• Ensure sterile field integrity and proper surgical instrumentation
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists
• Document patient care accurately and advocate for patient safety

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
• Prior CVOR experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation and holiday coverage

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of cardiac and vascular surgical procedures
• Proficient in sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Excellent critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
• Effective communication and teamwork in the OR environment
