Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients with diverse needs
• Perform rapid triage assessments and prioritize care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and emergency interventions with precision
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to stabilize and treat critical conditions
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and respond swiftly to emergencies
• Provide clear education and emotional support to patients and families
• Document care accurately and maintain compliance with hospital protocols

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Iowa or a compact state license
• BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications required
• Emergency department experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical skills are encouraged to apply
• Ability to work 12.5-hour night shifts, including every third weekend and every other holiday
• Completion of Trinity-specific competency testing and skills checklist
• Compliance with Trinity health requirements, including drug screening, TB test, and vaccinations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills in emergency situations
• Expertise in patient assessment, triage, and prioritizing care
• Proficiency with IV insertion, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Excellent communication and collaboration with patients, families, and care teams
• Ability to remain composed and effective under pressure
• Familiarity with emergency nursing protocols and EHR documentation
