Roles & Responsibilities

• Inspect, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment to maintain the highest infection control standards
• Assemble and organize instrument trays and surgical packs for a variety of procedures
• Operate and maintain sterilizers, washers, and other processing equipment with precision
• Document sterilization cycles and maintain accurate quality assurance logs
• Monitor sterile supply inventory and restock to ensure surgical readiness
• Follow strict safety protocols to protect patients and teammates
• Coordinate with surgical staff to ensure the right instruments are ready at the right time

Qualifications

• Active Sterile Processing certification required (CRCST, CSPDT, or equivalent)
• Prior experience in sterile processing or central supply preferred
• Comfortable passing a background check and health screening, including vaccinations
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to patient safety
• Flexible and ready to work assigned shifts, including overnight or evening hours

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of sterilization methods and infection prevention principles
• Familiarity with surgical instruments and tray assembly
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Proficiency with instrument tracking systems is a bonus
• Physical capability to stand for long periods and lift heavy trays when needed
