Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate respiratory care to patients in an acute care setting
• Assess, plan, and implement respiratory therapy treatments based on physician orders
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to therapy, adjusting as needed
• Administer oxygen, aerosol medications, and mechanical ventilation support
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and disease management
• Document all care accurately and in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist licensure in the state of Missouri (or compact eligibility)
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Previous experience in acute care or LTAC setting is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in respiratory therapy modalities including mechanical ventilation, BiPAP/CPAP, and nebulizer therapy
• Knowledge of patient assessment, airway management, and ventilator troubleshooting
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and pharmacology for respiratory medications
• Skilled in electronic health record documentation
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients effectively
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach
