Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across the unit using evidence-based practice
• Manage and monitor ventilator settings, perform respiratory assessments, and adjust therapy as needed
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient care plans
• Perform therapeutic procedures (e.g., airway clearance, aerosol treatments) and document accurately
• Respond to emergency situations, participate in codes, and provide critical respiratory interventions
• Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions, equipment use, and discharge care

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) required
• State respiratory therapy licensure in Georgia (or eligible for licensure) required
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Comfortable with ventilator management and advanced airway care
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a fast-paced team

Education

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in ventilator management and respiratory modalities
• Skilled in arterial blood gas interpretation and oxygen therapy management
• Knowledgeable in infection control practices and patient safety protocols
• Able to document accurately in electronic medical records and follow unit workflows
• Strong critical thinking and quick decision-making under pressure
