Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem
Location: Portland, Oregon
Start Date: 09-08-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: As needed (per diem), 12.5-hour shifts; schedule varies based on availability
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality respiratory care to patients of all ages
- Assess respiratory status and implement individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team on patient progress
- Set up and maintain respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen therapy
- Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and home care
- Document patient responses and adjust therapies as needed
Qualifications
- Active Oregon Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- RRT or CRT certification through the NBRC
- Current BLS certification (ACLS/PALS a plus)
- Previous experience as a respiratory therapist preferred
- New graduates encouraged to apply if licensed
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, and oxygen delivery systems
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
