Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care to patients across a variety of units
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients' respiratory status and respond quickly to changes
• Administer respiratory treatments, medications, and therapies as ordered
• Manage ventilators and airway support, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to optimize patient outcomes
• Accurately document patient responses and adjust care plans as needed

Qualifications

• Current Virginia Respiratory Therapist license or ability to obtain before start
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the NBRC
• Current BLS certification (CPR) from the American Heart Association
• Previous acute care experience preferred, though new graduates are welcome to apply

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort with mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and airway management
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
