Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Block scheduling with every other weekend, 1 summer and 1 winter holiday required, standby call required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Attend deliveries as the baby nurse providing expert newborn care
Start and maintain IVs while monitoring patient response
Transfer patients to higher levels of care when needed
Provide specialized care for newborns requiring phototherapy, respiratory support, and monitoring for withdrawal symptoms
Flex between SCN and postpartum assignments based on unit needs
Assist with umbilical line placement and maintenance
Support families through the critical early days of newborn care

Qualifications

Active RN license in Washington
NRP and BLS certifications required
Experience attending deliveries as baby nurse preferred
Skilled in IV start and maintenance
Comfortable with Bubble CPAP, HiFlow, and umbilical line management
Ability to titrate drips including D5W and TPN

Knowledge & Skills

Level 2 NICU experience
Postpartum couplet care
Newborn assessment and stabilization
Respiratory support equipment including CPAP and BiPAP
Family-centered care approach
