Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to progressive care patients transitioning between ICU and medical-surgical units
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, telemetry, and vital signs, responding quickly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments with precision and safety
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately and in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana RN license or compact license eligibility in good standing
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Previous experience in PCU, step-down, or telemetry nursing is a plus
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Excellent communication and patient education skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and progressive care protocols
• Skilled in medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care
• Understanding of patient assessment, care planning, and discharge planning
• Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) documentation
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic clinical setting
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
