Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver expert nursing care to pediatric patients throughout the perioperative experience
• Assist the surgical team during procedures in the operating room
• Prepare the OR suite, ensuring a sterile and safe environment
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes during surgery
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow nurses
• Document intraoperative care accurately and thoroughly
• Advocate for the comfort and safety of young patients and their families

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Current BLS certification required
• PALS certification preferred
• Experience in perioperative or pediatric OR nursing is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with sterile technique and OR protocols
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of surgical instruments and equipment
• Solid grasp of aseptic and sterile techniques
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills
• Clear communication with surgical teams and families
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to pediatric care
