Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips for stepdown patients with complex medical needs
• Titrate IV drips such as Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin while closely observing patient responses
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manage acute conditions including sepsis, STEMI, CHF, stroke, and COVID
• Provide thorough bedside report and engage in hourly rounding to enhance patient safety and experience
• Float to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care as needed, demonstrating adaptability and teamwork
• Document accurately in EPIC and support the transition to virtual nursing

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown or acute care experience
• Valid driver's license required for compliance with the 50-mile radius rule
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry strips

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation skills
• Proficiency with IV drip titration and acute medication administration
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records
• Ability to manage high-acuity patients with multisystem failure
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Positive, can-do attitude with a commitment to patient-centered care
