Shift Type: Days, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with alternating weekends (10-hour shifts; first to float)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients in an inpatient acute care setting, focusing on adults and older teens
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for a diverse patient population including trauma, critical care, neuro, oncology, and surgical cases
  • Collaborate with a dedicated interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
  • Document patient progress accurately and efficiently in MEDITECH EMR
  • Provide coverage for alternating weekends and float to the College Station acute care hospital as needed
  • Support the unit by precepting new team members and helping maintain continuity of care

Qualifications

  • Active Texas Physical Therapy license (new grads welcome if you have strong adult acute clinical experience including trauma and critical care)
  • BLS Certification required
  • 2 years of experience in inpatient acute care preferred
  • Familiarity with MEDITECH EMR is a plus
  • Willingness to work alternating weekends and float between facilities
  • Must not have been directly employed by a CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility in the past year (PRN through outside firms is okay)

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong clinical reasoning in acute care physical therapy evaluation and treatment
  • Experience with trauma, critical care, neuro, oncology, and general medical patient populations
  • Ability to complete 1 evaluation per hour or 10 treatments in an 8-hour shift
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced Level III trauma center environment
