Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to adult and pediatric medical-surgical patients in a 17-bed unit with 14 inpatient and 3 observation beds.
• Monitor patient conditions including UTI, altered mental status, pneumonia, and COPD, and respond quickly to changes.
• Apply telemetry leads and collaborate with ICU tele techs to keep a close watch on patient rhythms.
• Work with charge nurses and nursing aides to maintain healthy nurse-to-patient ratios and a collaborative team environment.
• Float to ED/ICU for 1:1 patient observation when needed.
• Document accurately in MEDITECH and communicate clearly with providers, patients, and families.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (or compact NLC) and ability to obtain North Dakota licensure
• Minimum 1 year of full RN experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Current PALS certification required
• Pediatric experience preferred, but not required
• Must meet facility fit testing requirements for N95/PAPR (facial hair policy applies)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Team-oriented mindset with a 'ask when unsure' attitude
• Comfortable providing care to both adult and pediatric patients
• Basic telemetry skills, including applying leads and recognizing abnormal rhythms
• Familiarity with MEDITECH charting is a plus
• Motivated, approachable, and adaptable in a fast-paced unit
