Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU
- Attend deliveries and complete newborn admissions
- Manage respiratory support modalities including HFNC, BCPAP, and ventilators
- Monitor and care for ELBW infants, including UVC, UAC, and chest tubes
- Collaborate with neonatologists and the healthcare team on patient care plans
- Support and educate parents and families through their NICU journey
- Assist the Mother Baby unit as needed with labs, circumcisions, car seat studies, and newborn assessments
- Float between College Station and Bryan campuses as needed
- May precept new nurses and support team development
Qualifications
- Active RN license (required)
- Minimum 2 years Level III or IV NICU experience
- Current BLS, NRP-Advanced, and STABLE certifications
- Proficiency with NC, HFNC, BCPAP, ventilators, chest tubes, UVC, UAC, and ELBW infant care
- Delivery experience highly preferred
- No BSN required
- Must not have been directly employed by CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity within the past year
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of neonatal respiratory support and monitoring
- Skilled in MEDITECH charting
- Understanding of AWHONN staffing guidelines and couplet care
- Ability to maintain composure in high-acuity situations
- Strong communication and family support skills
- Proficient in attending high-risk deliveries and neonatal resuscitation
