Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery
• Monitor vital signs, consciousness, and comfort levels during recovery
• Manage pain and postoperative nausea, ensuring a smooth transition
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the care team
• Educate patients and families on recovery expectations and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PACU, critical care, or emergency nursing experience preferred
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Comfortable with cardiac monitoring and advanced airway equipment
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and the surgical team
• Ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced recovery environment
