Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery
• Closely monitor vital signs and assess patients' recovery status
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers and surgical teams to ensure safe transitions
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions
• Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Previous PACU, critical care, or emergency department experience preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently and as a reliable team member

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of post-anesthesia care principles and protocols
• Proficiency in monitoring and interpreting vital signs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR)
• Ability to stay calm and focused in high-pressure situations
• Strong patient advocacy and safety awareness
