Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy and other medications safely and accurately following unit protocols
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and monitor for treatment-related reactions
• Document care and clinical changes in the Meditech EMR clearly and timely
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and update care plans
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, side effect management, and discharge instructions
• Maintain high standards of infection control and participate in unit safety initiatives
• Support a positive unit culture by mentoring staff, communicating effectively, and contributing to quality improvements

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or compact state eligibility
• Chemotherapy Certification is preferred and will make you a top candidate
• Recent Med-Surg or Oncology experience preferred
• Current BLS; ACLS preferred or encouraged depending on unit needs
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and commit to every-other-weekend scheduling
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required background and health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of oncology nursing principles and chemotherapy administration
• Comfortable using Meditech EMR for charting and medication documentation
• Skillful in IV therapy, infusion pump management, and safe med administration
• Excellent assessment, clinical judgement, and patient education skills
• Team-oriented communication and the ability to work well in fast-paced environments
• Commitment to infection prevention and evidence-based nursing practices
