Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess neurological status of patients with conditions such as stroke, seizures, and brain injuries
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Provide comprehensive patient education to patients and their families about diagnoses and recovery
• Document patient progress and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment, including cardiac monitors and ventilators as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in stepdown, ICU, or neurology
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of neuro stepdown protocols and patient care standards
• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
