Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across multiple medical-surgical and telemetry units
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, identifying changes in patient status and responding appropriately
• Float within a 60-mile zone across multiple facilities, adapting quickly to different unit cultures and patient populations
• Administer medications, including titration of heparin drips as ordered
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in EPIC
• Support patients and families through education on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Maintain a safe and healing environment while managing 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratios based on acuity

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Kansas or compact state (license to submit required)
• 2+ years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience within the last 3 years
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications
• Ability to float across multiple facilities within a 60-mile zone
• Prefer prior neuro experience
• Prefer Alaris and EPIC experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry and acute care assessment skills
• Proficiency in caring for cardiac, neuro, oncology, renal, ortho, and post-surgical patients
• Comfort titrating heparin drips and managing set-rate drips
• Ability to adapt quickly to new units, charting systems, and team dynamics
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Familiarity with EPIC charting and Alaris IV infusion pumps
