Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM and 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every 3rd weekend and 3rd holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care across MedSurg and Emergency Department settings
Admit, discharge, and transfer patients while maintaining continuity of care
Titrate critical medications including insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed
Start IVs and manage PICC lines and ports with precision
Respond swiftly to codes including cardiorespiratory, stroke, and sepsis situations
Participate in trauma response and coordinate with flight transport teams
Read and document cardiac strips independently using Mindray monitors
Complete EKGs and provide hands-on patient care with minimal support staff

Qualifications

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Proven ER experience essential for floating between departments
Comfortable working independently with minimal staffing
Experience with medication titration and emergency response protocols
Strong communication skills for direct collaboration with hospitalists

Knowledge & Skills

Ability to work with diverse patient populations from rehab to critical care
Proficiency in Meditech EMR documentation
Understanding of EMTALA regulations for patient transfers
Experience with BiPAP, high flow oxygen, and Hamilton T1 ventilator management
Skilled in hourly rounding, vital signs monitoring, and blood glucose checks
