Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to medical-surgical patients managing acute and chronic conditions
• Monitor patient status, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions to promote positive outcomes
• Document assessments and interventions accurately, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
• Respond quickly to changing patient conditions and escalate concerns using sound clinical judgment
• Support a safe healing environment by maintaining infection control, patient safety, and comfort

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license in Louisiana (or compact state where applicable)
• Minimum of 1-2 years of recent med/surg or acute care nursing experience preferred; strong new graduates considered
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required; ACLS preferred
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts, including some weekends and holidays

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and medication administration
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Comfortable adapting to varied patient assignments and unit needs
