Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to medical-surgical patients
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered
- Monitor vital signs and promptly respond to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on health management and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted RN license in Alabama (or compact state)
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Previous med/surg or acute care nursing experience preferred
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to diverse patient needs and unit demands
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of medical-surgical nursing standards and best practices
- Skilled in IV insertion, medication administration, and wound care
- Proficient with electronic health records (EHR) and charting
- Excellent patient assessment and clinical judgment
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal communication abilities
