Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional care to patients with diverse medical-surgical and telemetry needs, including post-op, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, and infections
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, titrate heparin drips as needed, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Float to other med/surg/tele units as needed, ensuring seamless patient care across the hospital
• Perform skills such as Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, and maintain sterile field during procedures
• Collaborate with a resource RN and charge nurse to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Attend SIMs lab to demonstrate competency in key nursing skills and pass pass/fail exams

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Arizona or compact state
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg and Telemetry experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to accepting the contract
• No first-time travelers; previous travel experience preferred
• Ability to float to other units and adapt quickly to new environments
• Must have natural hair color, no facial piercings, and men must be clean-shaven for fit testing

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing with strong assessment skills
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Competent in Foley catheter insertion, central line dressing changes, and maintaining sterile field
• Knowledge of heparin titration and management of post-operative patients
• Familiarity with hospital equipment and policies for lifts, restraints, and wound care
