Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM and 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, self-scheduling with every third weekend requirement

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $62 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, high-quality care to diverse patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries and managing complex medical conditions
Administer medications and monitor IV infusions while ensuring patient safety and comfort
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate seamless care transitions and positive outcomes
Perform hourly rounding and bedside shift reports to keep patients and families informed and supported
Float to PCU and behavioral health units as needed, showcasing adaptability and clinical versatility

Qualifications

Active RN license in Iowa or compact state
Current BLS certification required
Minimum one year of recent Med Surg or Ortho experience preferred
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and time-management skills
Ability to pass a 90% open-book skills exam during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient with total joint replacements, COPD, diabetes, wound care, and sepsis management
Comfortable floating between Med Surg, PCU, and behavioral health settings
Skilled in hourly rounding, bedside shift reporting, and patient education
Flexible and self-directed approach to changing patient needs and unit priorities
