Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs and intervene when necessary to ensure safe outcomes
• Assist with delivery procedures and provide immediate newborn care
• Educate new parents on newborn care, feeding, and recovery
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the healthcare team to create personalized birth plans
• Maintain accurate patient records and advocate for your patients' needs

Qualifications

• Current and unrestricted RN license in Virginia (or compact license accepted)
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification strongly preferred
• Previous labor and delivery experience is a plus
• Passion for women's health and delivering exceptional patient care

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of fetal monitoring and labor progression
• Excellent communication and patient education skills
• Ability to stay calm and act quickly in high-pressure situations
• Empathy and emotional support for patients and families
• Teamwork and collaboration in a fast-paced maternity unit
