Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, comprehensive nursing care to mothers and babies during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, recognizing and responding to changes
• Assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections, supporting the care team
• Educate new parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, and recovery
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and nurses to ensure safe, positive birth experiences
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold the highest standards of patient safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state
• Current BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• Previous Labor and Delivery experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

• Maternal and neonatal assessment
