Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate care to critically ill patients in a 12-bed CVICU, 8-bed medical-surgical ICU, and 16-bed PCU, all under one dynamic critical care service line.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and EKG strips, recognizing dysrhythmias and responding with confidence.
• Titrate a wide range of critical care drips, including pressors, sedation, antiarrhythmics, and anticoagulants.
• Collaborate with intensivists, respiratory therapists, and the care team to manage ventilators, wean patients, and troubleshoot equipment.
• Care for complex patients with conditions such as sepsis, DKA, post-MI, CRRT, EVD, chest tubes, and fresh open-heart surgeries (if experienced).
• Actively participate in rapid response and code blue teams, making split-second decisions that save lives.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Arizona or a compact state
• 2+ years of ICU nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with 80% within two attempts prior to signing contract
• Ability to care for patients on ventilators, interpret ABGs, and manage critical drips
• Must reside outside the 50-mile radius rule and not be employed by CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity within the past year

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Expert EKG and dysrhythmia recognition
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Ventilator weaning and troubleshooting
• ABG interpretation
• Critical care drip titration
• Cerner charting system proficiency
• Experience with IABP, CRRT (Prismaflex), EVD, and arterial lines preferred
