Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and sterilize operatories and instruments to ensure a safe, efficient workspace
• Assist the orthodontist with procedures, including bracket placement and wire changes
• Take and pour dental impressions and fabricate models
• Capture and mount radiographs as needed
• Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and orthodontic care
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure a welcoming environment

Qualifications

• Certified or registered dental assistant in Maryland (or eligible)
• Prior orthodontic assisting experience is a plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to providing high-quality patient care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and procedures
• Radiation safety and dental radiography skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Denticon)
• Excellent patient communication and troubleshooting skills
