Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to geriatric patients with psychiatric conditions
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
• Monitor patient conditions, document progress, and report any changes
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and mental health management
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for patients

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as applicable
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record system
• Completion of required health screenings (TB, drug test, physical) and immunizations (MMR, Varicella, COVID-19, Influenza, Tdap)
• Previous experience in psychiatric or geriatric nursing preferred
• Ability to work per diem shifts on an as-needed basis

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of geriatric psychiatric nursing practices
• EPIC EHR system proficiency
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Effective communication and patient education skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team
