Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts including 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM, and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; weekends and holidays vary based on department needs

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver expert emergency care to patients in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center
Manage high-acuity cases including trauma, sepsis, chest pain, strokes, and respiratory distress
Administer and monitor common emergency medications and drips
Collaborate with physicians, mid-levels, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care
Float to the OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once per week to support broader team needs
Interpret cardiac monitoring strips and respond promptly to patient changes

Qualifications

Current RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
NRP certification preferred
Recent Level I or Level II trauma experience required
Valid driver's license for radius verification
Ability to pass a 90% open-book skills exam during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills in high-acuity emergency settings
Proficiency with common emergency drips and cardiac monitoring interpretation
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with varied patient presentations
Ability to adapt quickly to floating assignments and changing priorities
